Cherry
A fruit that grows on trees, the cherry is native to the temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. Fraser Tea selects their organic cherries from Michigan. The cherry has a unique sweet sour to tart taste. The intensity of these flavors can vary by region. Cherries have been found to carry anti-inflammatory properties and research has shown the fruit benefits pain relief from arthritis.
Ginger
Grown in Thailand, ginger is an ancient flowering plant that grows about 3 feet tall. It's characterized by green leaves and yellow flowers that create rhizome, or ginger root. The spice is one of the most common flavor additives and known for its medicinal properties. With its strong aroma and flavor, ginger enhances many of our teas. Ginger is thought to be useful in battling cancer, inflammation and heart disease and often recommended to settle a sour stomach.
Lemon Balm
A perennial plant grown in Bulgaria, lemon balm grows to about 6 feet and offers a mild, peaceful, lemony aroma and flavor. We use it in several of our teas to provide a calming effect and to subtly enhance flavor. Lemon balm is often used to fight inflamation, treat anxiety, sleep problems, nervousness and ADHD.
Turmeric Root
Turmeric is a perennial plant of the ginger family native to southern Asia. Turmeric has been used for thousands of years in Siddha medicine. Initially used as a dye, the widely used herb is consumed to help support healthy joints, Turmeric may also help reduce inflammation and enhance cognitive function.
Blueberry
Blueberries are a perennial plant native to North America and harvested from May through August. Blueberry has a complex, slightly sweet taste that is tangy and slightly acidic. Fraser Tea uses only organic blueberries grown in Michigan to compliment many of its teas. Very high in anthocyanins- an antioxidant , blueberries are thought to neutralize free radicals that can cause damage to our DNA, fight inflammation, and it can help lower cholesterol.
