Non-GMO Tea Bags

GMOs, or genetically modified organisms, are organisms (plants, animals, microorganisms, etc.) altered genetically in a laboratory and do not already exist in nature. This is done through the altering of a product's genes to affect a naturally occurring trait. Genetically modified products are relatively new, so the long-term health effect of consuming GMOs is unknown and still being researched.

To avoid the risk that comes with GMOs, our tea bags are non-GMO Project verified, meaning they use no genetically modified ingredients. Fraser Tea bags meet compliance with the non-GMO Project standard, which includes stringent provisions for testing and traceability.

We work diligently to source only the best organic teas to put in your cup, so it only makes sense to pack those teas in the best packaging option we can offer.

Compostable Sachets

At Fraser Tea, our tea bags are made of fully compostable materials, with the exceptions of Hot Spicy Cinnamon and Hot Cinnamon Rooibos. Compostable material is material that can be naturally decomposed by microorganisms, which requires the material to be natural.

As seen in the graphic, starch is extracted from non-GMO sugar cane and sugar beet and combined with other compostable raw materials to create our tea bag. The full bag, including the string and tag, are made of these materials. After using the tea bag, it can be naturally disposed of. Our tea bags come from nature and can be returned to nature.

Our bags are OK Compost certified from TUV Austria, meaning they have determined that our tea (sachet) bags have gone through very stringent requirements to be certified as compostable.
